This special T-bolt clamp is designed to fit in the narrow clamp groove of the R55, R56, & R57 JCW (and MCS) turbocharger inlet hose. It is a must-have for track driven JCW's that use the factory airbox or the DoS CAI.
We carry this clamp because it has 4X more holding power than the stock hose clamp that comes with your turbocharged MINI Cooper S. This ensures that your turbo inlet hose stays firmly in place under the hardest driving/punishment. This clamp holds so well that it is now standard equipment for our R55, R56, R57 JCW CAI Kit (relased in May 2010.)
This clamp also allows MCS owners to run the JCW turbo inlet hose. It applys enough force to compensate for the small difference between the JCW and MCS turbo inlet sizes, making for a very easy MINI mod that utilizes stock parts.
Tips for using the DoS Narrow T-Bolt Clamp:
Clean the following areas with brake cleaner or denatured alcohol:
A) Turbo inlet hose barb (aluminum inlet coming off the turbo)
B) Turbo inlet hose grommet (remove this from the turbo inlet tube and clean both the inside and outside mating surfaces of the grommet
C) Inside of turbo inlet tube (clean mating surfaces for turbo inlet hose grommet
